Building Nestled #1
A public journal entry to track progress, be publicly accountable, and start conversations!
🌱 Accomplishments
Weekend Retreat on Lake Michigan. Shared about the vision for Nestled and received so much encouragement. I had a great conversation with Matt, who started a tiny home village before, and he was gracious enough to share insights learned along the journey. Big takeaway — there needs to be shared leadership so the community doesn’t hinge on one person.
Completed my first coaching call today with a dear friend and business guru. I’m feeling energized and motivated to move forward.
Published version 1 of The Nestled Manifesto
Finalized Operations and Compliance Plan, and Community Design Guide with tailored recommendations that I’ve been working on this year for a condo community.
❓ Puzzles / Questions I’m Sitting With
[From Ian, environmental mediator]
Explore the relationship between isolation/disconnection and our market economy. How does our economy depend upon our isolation?
What is your “product” replace? How does it affect surrounding neighborhoods, and the broader geographic region?
How do we increase equity in regards to access to community?
How do I integrate or avoid AI in building a human-centered movement? What boundaries, if any, need to be in place to preserve humanity?
💡 Learnings
I set unrealistic timelines and idealistic expectations. I need to add in margin to every project and back up deadlines to make sure that I am being reasonable. Consider both work and personal life in setting goals since they flow in tandem with each other.
Fear of disappointing others and uncertainty with how to complete a task are roots of procrastination in my life. Current approach is to acknowledge when I am procrastinating and try to sit with it in the uncomfortable space between the problem and way to solve it.
Stay in relationship with those with an opposing philosophy. Learn from them and notice what resistance arises.

👣 Next Step I’m Committing To
Find and test an integrated way to input contacts, insights and ideas gleaned and turn them into actions that is easy to use and that allows me to track it through the lifecycle.
